Ten thousand tickets will be released this week by the Barangaroo Delivery Authority for people to snag a spot to the best new viewpoint for the Sydney New Year's Eve fireworks - Barangaroo Reserve. The theme for the fireworks this year is City of Colour - and Barangaroo will be a great location to view it from, with a brand new viewpoint of the illuminations on the western face of the Harbour Bridge.
Lowdown
This will be a family friendly venue, so no alcohol will be allowed to be brought in. There is a licensed area where you can purchase alcohol. Entry is by ticket only. Food and drink is available for purchase on-site, and you can also pre-order a gourmet
picnic hamper for 2 people, starting from $64.
Vegetarian options available, and a children's hamper is also available for $24. Guests are welcome to bring their own picnic hampers.
Entry point?
Gates on Hickson Rd open at 6pm on Thursday 31 December 2015.
Prices?
Pretty much a bargain at the following prices (additional booking fees apply):
Child - $14.50 (3 - 15 years of age)
Adult - $29.50 (16 years and over)
Family - $79 (two adults and two children)
The trick, I suspect, will be managing to get online to buy tickets before they all sell out (or before the website crashes from the amount of traffic trying to do the same thing).
When can I buy tickets?
Tickets go on sale to subscribers at 9am on Wednesday 11 November 2015. General ticket sales commence at 9am on Thursday 12 November 2015.
Where do I buy tickets from?
Moshtix
Given the expected level of interest and to ensure opportunities are spread around, you will only be allowed to buy a maximum of ten tickets per transaction.
