The night skies of Brisbane are set to explode with spectacular colour and light this New Year's Eve to welcome in 2019 with the city's annual fireworks extravaganza. If you love a festive fireworks display and are resolution ready, then get along to South Bank to ring in the New Year.
The main city fireworks display will erupt over South Bank with two shows - one at 8.30pm (perfect for the kids) and of course, at midnight. Each fireworks show will run for 10 minutes.
Just choose from a raft of prime viewing locations including South Bank, the Clem Jones Promenade, Streets Beach and River Quay. Pack a picnic, throw in the swimmers, claim your spot at the Parklands and make your New Year's celebrations one to remember.
Further along the winding Brisbane River, to Eagle Street Pier, Howard Smith Wharves and Portside Wharf you can also take in the pyrotechnic displays at 8.30pm and midnight and again lasting 10 minutes. You can grab dinner at one of the riverside restaurants or take in the spectacular display on board a private dinner cruise
New Year's Eve fireworks is a worldwide tradition with most major cities from London to New York, Tokyo to Sydney all celebrating with fireworks. So, join in the Brisbane fun this New Year's Eve at your favourite vantage point to start the year with a bang.
