If you're New to Melbourne , you might benefit from the Free Language Swap program by New to Melbourne . It runs every Wednesday and Friday, with current dates from 30 Oct to 13 Dec 2024. You just need to sign up here for free to attend. The event is free if you register via the given link, otherwise, it's $5 per person to attend. Find the event dates and times via the event page . For example, the next upcoming Wednesday date is 30 Oct from 6-9pm, and Friday 1 Nov from 6-8pm. Events are held at La Di Da , 577 Little Bourne St, Melbourne. They are a social group for travellers, backpackers, international students and local Aussies in Melbourne. If you want to find people that speak your target language it's suggested that you post in the 'discussion section' of each event page for the date you are attending. The language exchange is free and in a social setting with a cheap food and drink menu, you can purchase from if you're hungry. These language swap events are where you can make new friends, and pick up a new language over a drink. Attend for free after registration, and find out how it all works. When you arrive, you receive a badge with your native language and the languages you would like to learn. Place them on your chest with your native language on the right and other languages you are learning on the left. Then go meet people and exchange languages! Bring a pen and paper and good vibes.
