With the inevitable end to the iconic Subiaco Station markets comes a new beginning. The Subiaco Council has recently granted approval for a new street market to operate on weekends and public holidays.
Unlike the old Pavilion Markets and the soon-to-be-defunct Station Street Markets, the new Rokeby Markets will be held outdoors on a stretch of road between Hay Street and Bagot Road. Closed to traffic, the markets will be held under marquees with designated zones for fashion, food, regional produce and family friendly entertainment.
The Rokeby markets will begin in Spring (October 2015) and feature over 200 stalls including fresh and gourmet food, street-style vendors, health and wellness products, handcrafted gifts, locally designed fashion, vintage and upcycled products, and West Australian art.
The focus is on locally grown and created products showcasing the best of what Western Australia has to offer.
Markets on Rokeby will quickly become Perth's largest weekend market and a hub for families and friends to meet, shop and eat on Subi's iconic Rokeby Road.
There will be normal parking available throughout Subiaco, but the markets are also only a few minutes walk from the train station.
The markets will run on Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays between 9am and 4pm.
