A special cross-cultural musical event
Hawthorn Arts Centre is presenting a very special cross-cultural event, bringing together a group of musicians from two sides of the Indian Ocean who have forged a deep and unique musical connection over several decades. New Springs will feature performers from India and Australia, bringing the best of their respective musical traditions, on Friday 6th September.

Presented in association with Multicultural Arts Victoria, New Springs is led by legend of Indian music, Guru Kaaraikkudi Mani, a trailblazing percussionist whose music is deeply steeped in the Carnatic tradition. Supported by two leading next-generation musicians, this concert also features B.V. Raghavendra Rao on violin and Guruprasanna on kanjira.
