Due to popular demand, Handmade High Street has added another workshop date for learning the gentle art of rag rugging. Learn to make yarn from sheets and large pieces of fabric and then make into a beautiful heirloom rug for your home. This class is always a laugh as you join with other ladies to rip, plait and sew together in the Annerley store, Handmade High Street.

You will receive 2 hours tuition from owner, Kath who has extensive experience with a variety of crafts including crochet, knitting, sewing and of course, rag rugging. You will also be treated to a glass of champagne and some nibbly food to get you in the Christmas spirit.

Rag rugging is an ancient art which was first used as a way of finding a use for old rags, sheets and other linens which were no longer useful or were threadbare. In the theme of upcycling or 'Make Do and Mend', these rugs are a beautiful way of making something special for your own home or as a gift and it doesn't cost you a cent in materials.
