A taste of Scandinavia in Prospect
Prospect continues to grow as a food and entertainment hub in the north of the city. With the opening of Palace Nova Prospect, a new focal point was developed on Prospect Road. Before long, several new cafes and restaurants opened in the building's available spaces. These places bring something fresh and exciting to the area and New Nordic is a stand-out amongst these establishments.
Authentic Scandinavian cuisine. I don't believe there are many places that can boast this kind of unique theming and flavour. New Nordic is a triple threat style emporium. Offering a cafe for breakfast and brunch encounters, then expanding out into a dinner menu as well as a cocktail bar for those looking to have a drink before seeing a movie. New Nordic have placed themselves in the best possible position to cater to the people of Prospect.
Style is everything in the new look Prospect Road and New Nordic doesn't skip a beat with its modern, minimalist design. With clear Scandinavian themed décor, New Nordic keeps things simple with a welcoming and warm atmosphere. Sharp whites and wood finishes give it a homely feel with plenty of greenery to oxygenate the area. New Nordic is an environment where you can really feel comfortable with friends and family.
New Nordic is bringing three aspects to Prospect dining to continue the livening up of the suburb. First is their breakfast and brunch menus. Well-crafted coffee and suburb breakfast dishes culminate in a hotspot to start the day off right. Smoked Mackeral Omelettes and a Nordic-style Benedict, as well as many others, ensure that you will have a very satisfied morning.
Come nightfall, New Nordic transforms into a culinary delight. Authentic Scandinavian dishes and delicious cocktails paint a picture of the magical winters of the far north. These dishes are sure to warm your heart and soul and kick off your night. I'm not normally a soup fan but I must say their Yellow Pea and Ham soup has so much flavour and character. It is served with a shot of Swedish punsch (liqueur), which should be an essential part of your night.
Behind the bar are skilled mixologists, who show a great love and care for their craft. Creating stories in glasses, the cocktails at New Nordic are so distinctive as to create a mood through their essence. A good example is the Dark Snow, a cocktail that tastes so much like Christmas, that it can't help but warm your spirits.
New Nordic is open now at 98 Prospect Rd in Prospect. I would say you take this opportunity to have a look, make a reservation and experience a taste of the icy far north in a cosy, inviting part of Prospect. Visit the New Nordic site now to check out their menu and head down there soon.
This place is lovely but they need to train their staff on service. Very slow to be given a menu, have your order taken and to get the bill. They need to teach the staff not to talk in the corner or pass by tables with empty plates, cups etc. once they omprove on this people will return after the first visit.
