Great way for Mothers, Carers & Kids to find new friends
The New Farm Neighbourhood Centre situated at 967 Brunswick Street is home to the New Farm Playgroup. The group is registered with the Playgroups Association of Queensland and all families attending the playgroup are required to become a member of the Association upon joining.

There is a free playground for children at the back of the Centre with tables and chairs close by or your child can play with the numerous toys inside. Volunteers are on hand to also teach a craft and you can arrive or leave at any time throughout the morning. A ramp at the front and back of the Centre caters for those who use a wheelchair.

The New Farm Play Group is a great way for children to interact with others their own age and also for Mothers and Carers to get out of the house where they can socially engage in conversation whilst enjoying a cup of tea or coffee. It's amazing how much more knowledge you become aware of from talking to other Mothers and sharing the situations that you are experiencing from your own children. Many a time firm friendships have been formed between families from playgroup interactions. Babies to toddlers (0 to 6) are welcome.
Everyone chips in by assisting with the set up for the day and packing and tidying up afterwards.

The playgroup is one of the many groups that base themselves at The New Farm Neighbourhood Centre. The Centre is for hire with two rooms available. One is a meeting style room seating 15 people with the Elizabeth McLean Room is for larger functions. A small kitchette is off to one side of this room.
Donations can be made to the Centre or once your children are at school, you may wish to give some of your spare time to the Centre as one of their volunteers. The Centre holds volunteer insurance which covers anyone who has signed in as a volunteer.
For any information about the Centre, hiring or news about what's on, go to their webpage where all questions are answered.
