Take the opportunity to visit this op shop

The New Community Op Shop is run by Ringwood New Community Church, which returns all profits to the local community.

What they do.

It's not a wide shop but has depth in both distance and range of merchandise.

You can view some of their merchandise before you even enter the shop proper. The entrance is set back with a veranda area between the shop and footpath.

Clothing is the mainstay of opportunity shops and this one has plenty.

With winter almost upon us, there were several racks of winter clothing to help keep out the coldest weather.

To go with your winter outfit, a few boots were on show, as were shoes for your non-outdoor footwear needs.

Little ones are not forgotten with a nice range.

Tables and displays of knick-knacks are always interesting to look at and perhaps purchase. I was taken by the three little pigs taking their place among other figurines.

Another interesting item was a dressed lion. I think it was a lion with a long mane, but the clothing indicated a lioness. Perhaps cross-dressing has come to op shops!

Every op shop has a library and the New Community has a good range of old and new titles.

Op shops are often a mecca for collectors. A large range of glassware was marked as selling for half-price.

Also, marked as half price, was a small range of framed prints.

Probably not for your next holiday, but three very old and much-travelled suitcases peered down from a high shelf.

Very well traveled.

The one word that would describe all the merchandise on offer, except for the three suitcases, is quality. If you were to wake up in an op shop these days, it may take you a while to realise you were in one! New Community is one of those.

You could be in a boutique.

Like all op shops, they rely on volunteers to keep the doors open and this would be a good one to offer your volunteer services to work with a very friendly staff.
