Nerve lives up to its name of being a nerve wreaking trip through an elaborate online game similar to truth or dare. The movie is based on the youth fiction book written by Jeanne Ryan and it will appeal to teenagers and twenty-year-olds the most. The movie is filled with suspense as the dares become more challenging.

Vee likes to take photos for the yearbook and hide behind the camera, but when she is rebuffed by her current crush she decides to take more risks in her life and joins the Nerve game. When you join the online game it asks whether you want to be a 'player' or a 'watcher'?

The online game of high stakes starts off simply by daring her to kiss a stranger. Vee is tempted by money prizes and a super-hot partner Ian (played by Dave Franco). The challenges become riskier as the manipulative audience of 'watchers' votes and cheers them on. Friendships are tested as events quickly get out of hand.

The movie makes you think about how entrenched we are with using social media and how you can't really hide your true identity online. The ending was unexpected and I was rooting for the wrong guy.

Nerve is a fun movie which may encourage you to be more careful online, or take more risks in your life (hopefully without the added peer pressure).
