Best way to spend your afternoon in the nature
Sydney is a lucky city surrounded by both beaches and mountains which gives Sydney families a variety of choices when it comes to weekend trips or family day trips.

And while Katoomba and Leura have well known walking routes, there are many more short and long hikes in Lower Blue Mountains as well. We have decided to explore the area of Glenbrook which is close to the city given the fact the decision for fresh air and some leg exercise came in the afternoon.

Our attention was attracted by photographic images of Nepean Lookout and we have decided to discover it for ourselves.

This lookout is easy to find. From NPWS gates close to Glenbrook train station just follow the road which at some point becomes unpaved and then reaches The Oaks Picnic Area, which is a nice spot to stop for some snacks. Then just keep left following the sign to Nepean Lookout.

From the car park it is about 700 m easy walk to the lookout itself, which offers stunning views of the area. Be aware that the lookout is not fenced in case you are walking with the children.

This is a beautiful spot to just sit back and relax and embrace the nature.
