I'm a literature student living in Perth and I like to write about various topics.

Looking for a quick meal? Then try NeNe Chicken in Northbridge. According to their website, NeNe means 'yes yes' in Korean and that's exactly what you'd want to exclaim when you eat here.
The majority of the menu is fried chicken which comes in various flavourings and spices, ranging from mild to spicy. On my first visit, I tried the 'Swicy', a sweet and spicy dish which I fell in love with on my first bite. The chicken was juicy and melted in my mouth while sweet chilli sauce and pepper created an interesting balance between sweetness and spice. Despite the label as spicy, I found this dish to be mild and felt that the sweet chilli sauce tended to overpower the chilli, leading to a more sweet than spicy flavour.
When I returned, I decided to try the 'Bugoli' flavour and wasn't as impressed. To me, this flavour was bland and lacked the 'wow' factor that made my first visit memorable. The chicken was not as tender this time round and lacked the garlic flavour that was listed on the menu. It was a good idea but wasn't executed very well.
There are probably better places for Fried Chicken in Perth but overall, NeNe's does a decent job at bringing a taste of Korea to Perth and is somewhere I would go again when I'm in the mood for a quick meal.
