Nelson Bay Playground is a popular playground on the scenic Bay Playground/@-32.7194597,152.1459363,19z/data=!4m13!1m7!3m6!1s0x6b7383c232b5436d:0x5017d681632f200!2sNelson Bay NSW 2315!3b1!8m2!3d-32.715!4d152.151111!3m4!1s0x6b7383ee61d75679:0xf97090ccc9a739e5!8m2!3d-32.7196363!4d152.1460466 Nelson Bay Foreshore , in the Port Stephens region. If you have kids, they will be drawn to it like a magnet as you walk along the foreshore between the wharf and d'Albora Marinas in the heart of Nelson Bay. Just steps away from the playground are the inviting and clear waters of the bay and soft white sand to sink your toes into and make sandcastles. When you have finished, take the short walk up to the playground and have a play in the scenic, shady haven.

Water, sand & a playground, all in the one place. Does it get any better for kids?

This playground has been well-designed to cater for all ages. In one area there is a blue double slide so that children and parents can slide down together, a pretend play area for pre-schoolers, bouncy toys, a small picnic table and a small toddler swing. The rest of the playground consists of moving walkways, netting frames, rock climbing walls and more challenging pieces of equipment for older kids to master. The swings also have a million dollar view of the bay, with one of them designed for children in wheelchairs to pull themselves up and into it. Half the fun for kids is exploring each and every activity.

Get comfortable mums and dads - you could be there for a while!

The playground is ideal for locals and tourists as it is in the perfect position right in the middle of the bay. After having a play in the playground, families can then walk in either direction and buy an ice cream or fish and chips from the wharf or marina. If you have brought your own picnic, there are plenty of shady tables along the foreshore to sit and have lunch with views all across the bay. If you visit in summer, it will be hard to resist the sparkling blue water of Nelson Bay in front of the playground, to take a dip or a paddle and cool off again after a play.

So pack up the car, grab some snacks and water and head on down to Nelson Bay foreshore for some fun with the kids, this weekend or school holidays. The kids are guaranteed to love it.
