A great pizza joint. You might think that sounds standard… ordinary… nothing exciting…

Well you'd be wrong.



Neighbourhood Pizza in [u]Mt Hawthorn[/u] is the most amazing thing I've had. Ever. Period.

I used to think that pizza was quite boring. How can you really improve a base of dough topped with the usual vegetables and meat slices? Well just ask the chefs.



The pizza joint is hidden down a lane way in a warehouse and aims to create "rustic, wholesome food that is affordable to everyone." But they deliver so much more. Located in Mt Hawthorn, it creates a simple communal dinning experience which has automatically become a local hangout favourite. With string lights, a pool table and large wooden tables, it's an automatically welcoming place which makes you feel like you could take your shoes off whilst drinking BYO wine and beer. (Corkage only $2pp).



The menu twists the classics and adds creative vegetarian options that will leave you stumped for 20 minutes deciding until you pretty much order them all. The pizzas are seasonally inspired so the toppings are always made with fresh produce and perfects combos.



My personal favourite was number 4, with pumpkin, feta and balsamic vinegar glaze. It sounds amazing you say? Well it tastes like heaven. I even contemplated ordering another takeaway for the ride home. A side of salad with blue cheese even changes it up and leaves your palette tingling.



The salami and rocket sound like the usual but even that one rocked my socks – it's the use of fantastic local ingredients which is key. The guys behind Neighbourhood Pizza take their pizza seriously, know their stuff and respect their produce which works perfectly as they mix it up.



Neighborhood Pizza in Mt Hawthorn is the best I've experienced and the mountains of people piling in every night only reassures me that I'm not the only one. It's perfect for a couple's date but best for bigger groups because of its communal atmosphere. Get in now before it hits home even harder.
