Bring a neighbour & meet a neighbour at West End in March
We live such busy lives with work and running kids to extracurricular activities, that we hardly get to know our neighbours like our parents did in years gone by. Most mums are now working as well as dads and weekends are spent doing household chores around the yard or spending time at sporting events and the like.
However, that can change with a "Neighbour Day Potluck" event occurring on Sunday 31st March 2019 at Jane Street Community Gardens. You are invited to join others for a cuppa, yummy food, live music, a plant sale and inspiring garden tours, which all start from under the fig tree at the gardens. Please bring a mug for your cuppa and a plate of plant-based afternoon tea to share.
The Jane Street Community Garden is situated at 103 Jane Street West End, right beside Davies Park and between Montague Road and Riverside Drive in West End. They are a non-profit organisation, which is run by a dedicated group of community members to benefit the wider community.
Having been established for ten years, the garden now grows nearly 200 different varieties of edible plants, including vegetables, herbs, salad greens and plants that attract beautiful butterflies and insects.

The theme for this year's Neighbour Day is "Loneliness" as many neighbours can live lonely lives without friends and family close by. The day is also about what we can do as neighbours to make a connection with others.
Musicians commence entertainment at 3.00pm and in between acts, there will be a garden tour.
3.00pm – Musician Cristina Campo Di Stan
3.45pm – Garden Tour
