Event:
Become A Nature Ranger in Raven Street Reserve
'What's On Brisbane' is bringing another great event for children aged from 10 to 12 years. On Friday 8th March 2019 your child will have the opportunity to partake in Nature Ranger: Night Adventures. This event will commence at 7.00pm from the Downfall Creek Bushland Centre, 815 Rode Road, McDowall and will conclude at 8.30pm.

Children are invited to bring a friend, as long as he or she is also between the age of ten and twelve. The guided night walk is only two kilometres long and therefore will suit many fitness levels. Even if there is light rain on the night, the event will still go ahead. You may like to eat a light snack beforehand as there will be no breaks during the walk. Cost if free; however, bookings must be made by contacting naturerangers@brisbane.qld.gov.au

Requirements

Safety requirements apply and are a condition of entry, so each child must wear secure fully enclosed shoes, long pants and long sleeves. Please bring along a small hand-held torch (no head-lamps), insect repellent, drinking water and a raincoat if needed.

Young Nature Rangers must be signed in and out by an authorised adult; however parental or guardian supervision is not required on the walk. Please note there will be no early leave unless there is an emergency.

This will be a great informative event where children can experience how animals and insects play out their life at night an where the sounds of nature can be heard more vividly when the hustle and bustle of a working day is quiet. Some animals only come out at night and hibernate during the day. The Raven Street Reserve is sure to disclose many secrets and surprises to the young minds present.

Free car parking and public toilets are available for use on site.
