20 Ways with Nature Play is FREE to download and features a fun and inspiring collection of interactive and educational activities that the whole family can enjoy all year round!

The e-book is complemented with bonus colouring-in and drawing activities and includes 20 tried and tested activities that children are sure to love!

From rolling down a hill, playing some chasey near Montefiore Hill and visiting the life-size statue of the city's founder, Colonel William Light to watching out for local birdlife foraging for food, including the pelicans and the majestic Black Swan while taking a scenic cruise along the River Torrens on the Popeye!

DID YOU KNOW? Exposure to natural elements, such as soil and sand, contain naturally occurring microbes, which also help in building a stronger immune system.

There are activities for all seasons:

  • In autumn, gather the golden brown leaves at the Elm Avenue Carriageway, and build a leaf castle.

  • In winter, wear your gumboots, find a puddle, jump and dance like no one is watching! You'll come across a number of puddles in the Adelaide Park Lands, but muddy ones are always the best.

  • In spring, grab a basket take a long walk and see how many varieties of new season blooms you can collect; thread them together to make a flower bracelet or put together a bouquet to take home.

  • In summer, visit the water play fountain located in the northern end of Victoria Square. Let the kids run through the 9 vertical water rows, or challenge them to play a gave or 'Red Rover'.

    Each of the 20 activities are free to partake in and handy tips and hints are included to ensure you have the perfect family day out!

    These activities are designed for the whole family and can build resilience, enhance cognitive development, and help children and teenagers develop a strong imagination.
