The Australian Plants Society are hosting their 19th annual Native Plant Sale at the Wilson Botanic Park on Saturday 3rd September 2016 from 9am to 3pm at the Wilson Botanic Park, 668 Princes Hwy, Berwick.
Just in time for spring, there will be a wide variety of native plants on offer to help you dress, decorate, start or fill out your garden for the coming year. Stallholders will include the Austplant Nursery from Arthurs Seat, Cardinya View Nursery, Berwick (Wholesale), Goldfields Revegetation, Bendigo, Little Gem Nursery, Gembrook, Melaleuca Nursery, Inverloch, Narkabundah Wildflower Nursery, Sandy Point, Sunvalley Native Plants, Langwarrin (Wholesale), Vaughan's Australian Plants, Pomonal and Tracey Perrot, Cannons Creek.
Meet the growers and take advantage of this yearly opportunity to buy directly from native plant nurseries and wholesalers all situated together in one convenient location.
Also for sale there'll be bush food, bee hotels, food stalls, a specialist bookstall, native flower display and a raffle.
There is parking at the Wilson Botanic Park, but organisers warn it fills quickly. Either opt to arrive early or perhaps after lunch. Stallholders won't leave earlier than the times noted (9am to 3pm), but best to arrive prior to 2pm to ensure you have enough time to look around.
Admission to the Wilson Botanic Park and the plant sale is free. The sale is entirely outdoors so check the sky and bring your umbrella if there's a chance of rain.
Avid gardeners living around the City of Casey can join the Australian Plants Society and enjoy monthly meetings with likeminded people and listen to a variety of speakers who will cover topis including plant species, insects, birds and garden design. There is also a monthly working bee in the Wilson Park and some weekend garden visits.
