Learn about some of the most popular and beautiful native bees, and how to attract them into your garden with plants and insect hotels. You will also see inside a native stingless bee hive and get to taste their amazing honey. The workshop with Ian Driver from A Green Soul Native Bee,will cover both native solitary bees and stingless bees, and options for keeping them in gardens or even on decks and verandas.

A Green Soul Native Bees is a small Brisbane-based Australian Native Stingless Bee family business. Owner Ian Driver originally became interested in native bees over ten years ago whilst on a journey to green up his family’s life. With his inner-city Brisbane home block now filled with chickens, veggie gardens, fruit trees, compost bins, bat boxes, resident possums and all sorts of birds and wildlife, he has focussed mostly on native stingless bees, providing a range of native bee products and services to both individuals and organisations. Ian currently runs ‘Native Beekeeping 101’ workshops out of various locations across Brisbane. He also offers education sessions to kindergartens and schools, garden clubs and festivals. In addition to this, Ian builds Australian native beehives and a variety of other bee-related products. He is Past-President of the Australian Native Bee Association and currently manages their membership activities.
