National youth week is a celebration for young people aged 12-25 with loads of activities of kids and free things to do all about South Australia.

Youth Week 2014 has the theme Our Voice. Our Impact, and has nearly 100 events happening around the state which give youth an opportunity to get together, share ideas, showcase their talents, and just have fun. Many of the events are sponsored by local councils, so there will almost certainly be something happening in your local area.

In Adelaide CBD there's a conservation workshop at the Adelaide Zoo, the opening ceremony of the Movement is My Medicine Festival at The Mill, and a debating tournament at Adelaide University.

South of Adelaide there's a free scooter and skateboard competition on Saturday April 12 at the Avenue Road Skate Park , with heaps of prizes, a live DJ, pro rider judges, an air brush artist, face painting, and plenty of give-a-ways. There's free family entertainment, food, drink and information stalls, and plenty of free things to do for all ages. For more info and details about registration see here .

Also south of Adelaide, Glenelg Library is giving you a chance to have a go at digital animation - learn how and you could create an animated projection that will be part of a public exhibition during National Youth Week.

If you're musically inclined hit, the Glenelg foreshore and join the fun, learning simple rhythms and drumming techniques in a workshop about basic percussion and drumming

In the Adelaide Hills the Mount Barker Council is holding the
Rush Youth Festival at the Mount Barker Skate Park on Sunday April 14. Feel the Rush skate park wizardry mixes with music, workshops and buskers and even a night market. There's live music from Stock Exchange, Max Madman and The Heck Yeahs along with skate and BMX demonstrations and market stalls.

The Adelaide Hills Council has a number of special activities for kids at schools in the area, giving kids their chance to have a say about what's happening in their towns.

North of Adelaide, Gawler is holding a huge School Break Up Party at Apex Park on Sunday April 13. On the last day of school there will be plenty of outdoor activities including a gladiator ring, sumo suits, giant chest board, short films in an outdoor cinema and lots more activities for kids.

SLAM is being held on Friday April 4 in Elizabeth - it's a free youth happening with a mega skate comp (open to scooters, skateboards and BMX) , aerosol art competition, Silent Disco , local bands , and your favourite food vans.

The western suburbs has Youth Expo 2014 on Friday April 4 at St Claires Recreation Centre. It will feature a range of free sports and interactive activities for young people including a roller skate derby.

Even country towns won't be forgotten, with the Battle of the Bands in Murray Bridge , Sk8 Jam and Mannum Mic to be held at Mannum , and live entertainment at the Port Augusta Skate Park.

There's far too many events to list here individually, so look here for more about Youth Week 2014, or use this interactive map to see what's happening all about South Australia for Youth Week. It's also worth checking your local council's website to see if they have anything scheduled that's not on the map. Enjoy!
