National Trust of Australia (Victoria) is Victoria's premiere community-based heritage advocacy organisation and has been actively conserving and protecting our heritage for future generations to enjoy since 1956. With over 20 extraordinary heritage sites in Melbourne and Victoria,
see here for a quick guide to operating hours of properties you can visit. The places I personally visited have included Rippon Lea Estate, Como House & Garden, Old Melbourne Gaol, VAULT - Block Arcade, and Labassa; at times chasing down
Markets at these beautiful venues, tours, and theatric productions. You'd be surprised at how many events are held by the National Trust Vic each year. It's a great way to engage us, the public, and immerse us in our Victorian heritage. If you have a love of architecture as I do, it's always a discovery tour to look on in awe at the history of the buildings visited.
Currently, there are quite a few
events running which include guided tours be it building, garden or bird spotting, workshops and more. There are programs for children as well, for an early introduction to our beautiful heritage venues. There are pirate days, hide and seek events, school holiday programs and suchlike, which are perfect for the kids to enjoy and appreciate their historical, opulent surrounds. Be sure to check the
event page for details, dates and to book. With Christmas at our doorstep, here are a few events you may want to attend.
Follow the links given above to purchase tickets to the event and for all other details. As an NTV member, you can enjoy free and discounted access to year-round events for the whole family and inadvertently help conserve and protect Victoria's heritage for future generations.
