Mary Cairncross Scenic Reserve will celebrate National Threatened Species Day on Saturday September 8 with a raft of free activities.
The day is a salient reminder that many vulnerable species are reliant upon human intervention for their survival. The day actually commemorates the death of the last Tasmanian Tiger in captivity back in 1936.
The Reserve comprises of 55 hectares of National Estate listed subtropical rainforest overlooking the Glasshouse Mountains.
Activities on the day will include birds walk with Phil Bender from 7.30-9am, Amazing Animals live display with Geckos WIldlife from 10-11am and special displays at the MCSR Education Centre.
More details on activities set for the day are available on the website.
