The annual
NSLF (National Sustainable Living Festival) is a great reminder and teacher that inspires us to keep getting better at embracing sustainability and living in communion with our natural environment. A huge celebration, this festival is a showcase of ideas and action for sustainability we could incorporate into our lives to take better care of the world we live in for our future generations.
Running from
1-28 February 2023, this is a month-long program of local and international talks, forums, workshops, film, art, and design events that'll challenge and inspire. Find the

The Great Local Picnic - a big green day out is one of the popular events with ABC's Gardening Australia's Costa Georgiadis held at the Royal Botanic Gardens on
Sun 26 Feb from 12-4.30pm. Aside from being a huge afternoon celebrating sustainability, it also features a huge lineup of special guest sustainability innovators including Helena Norberg-Hodge, Dr. Sandro Demaio, Alice Zaslavsky, Tishiko King, Tim Entwisle, David Holmgren and more. A free event, bring your picnic needs along and join the showcase of local food, innovative sustainability, and community connection.

Going Off Grid held on
8 and 16 Feb 6.30-7.30pm could be the big drawcard. It's a practical workshop to help you plan and design your dream home if you're thinking of going self-sufficient. An interactive and creative workshop, it'll investigate a range of issues, hurdles, and elements in practice, with real-life examples. Be sure to

Growing Lion's Mane Mushroom - a mushroom cultivation workshop, mix up your own 4kg bag of Lion's Mane mushrooms - an interesting variety with many health benefits including boosting cognitive function
