On 21 August, the Powerhouse Museum will be holding interactive workshops for young teens with an interest in science. Running from 10am to 5pm, the workshops are free (with Museum admission), although it is necessary to book. Based in Harris Street, Ultimo, the Powerhouse Museum perfectly encapsulates the spirit of fun and learning that characterises National Science Week.
On 15 and 22 August, professional scientists will converge on various Biodiversity in City Discovery Stations, including the Botanic Gardens. With the professionals on hand, even the novice can learn about the urban biodiversity within Sydney.
Apart from the entertainment and education value of the festivities, National Science Week is just one of the initiatives seeking to increase public engagement with the sciences. Regardless of the motivation, National Science Week will provide a plethora of events for visitors to enjoy all around Sydney.
