Brekkie on your bike
Many people do not exercise enough to maintain a healthy lifestyle. However, there is an easy way to increase the amount of exercise in your week, and that is to ride to work on a regular basis. By riding instead of driving or taking public transport to work, you could easily fit exercise into your day without having to spend extra time. A 10km ride to work takes about half an hour. And this time would probably have been equivalent to you driving to work in peak hour traffic anyway.
The National Ride2Work Day encourages and celebrates commuter riding across Australia. It encourages people who have never ridden before to jump on their bike. It also motivates regular riders to continue being active on their way to work. And finally, it celebrates the health benefits of riding to work.
This year, National Ride2Work Day will be held on Wednesday the 16th of October 2019. Head to their website to register if this is something that interests you. And, on the day itself, stop by Hindmarsh Square between 7am and 9am for a free breakfast and coffee. There will be either bacon and egg rolls from Rotary or honey and granola pots from Hello Sarni.
