For one week, Australians join force to support the National Recycling Week held on Monday, 7 November to Sunday, 13 November 2011. Planet Ark, an Australian not-for-profit environmental organisation, established National Recycling Week in 1996 in order to aid awareness of the benefits and positive impact recycling has on our environment.

What is a Big Aussie Swap Party? Essentially, a swap party is an event whereby you exchange good quality items you no longer need for someone else's unwanted items. Items can be pieces of clothing, toys or anything else you have lying around the house. Swap parties are free and are run all throughout Australia. Presented by Melissa Doyle of the Channel Seven show Sunrise, the video below delivers an easy guide to understanding swap parties.

Planet Ark established National Recycling Week in 1996
National Recycling Week provides the community with a wealth of information and entertaining events to inform us of the importance of reducing, reusing and recycling while at home, work or in public. Of course, there's also the chance I might find some great designer clothes at my local swap party.
