Support Foster Kids by wearing your PJ's to school or work
National Pyjama Day is The Pyjama Foundation's annual fundraising event, to raise money for children in foster care. This year's event is officially being held on Friday 17th July, but you can host a Pyjama Day any day in July or August.
Schools, workplaces, child care centres and more are encouraged to wear their PJs for one day to raise awareness and funds for a worthy cause. The Pyjama Foundation is hoping to raise $250,000 from this year's event.
It is estimated that 75% of children in foster care do not finish high school. The Pyjama Foundation funds a learning-based mentoring program, where volunteers called 'Pyjama Angels' visit foster children to provide 90 minutes per week of educational games, literacy and numeracy support. This program helps to decrease some of the pressures on foster carers, and gives children the skills and confidence to fulfil their learning potential.
To get involved, visit The Pyjama Foundation website and register your school or workplace now.
