Celebrate National Playgroup Week on Thursday, March 26 from 9am-12pm at the Melbourne Street Green at QPAC.
If you are a member of Playgroup or are considering joining, this is a wonderful opportunity to see for yourself how much fun can be had at a Playgroup. Join in creative play with a community art project, try some gardening play, dress up, play with words and QPAC Boppin' Tours.
Local author Michelle Worthington will be attending to read one of her popular books, "Yellow Dress Day".

Local author will read her book.

Playgroup is close to my heart. It kept me sane through the toddler years. It gave the children company and it me an opportunity to share advice and stories with the other mums. I took both my girls, now 30ish, to Playgroup and although they are no longer in contact with their friends, I am still in touch with the first woman I met at Moorooka Playgroup. She quickly became a close and dear friend. She and her husband are godparents to one of my children and we all see each other regularly.
I tried two playgroups before I found one where I "fit". So if at first you don't love it, keep trying.
If you are attending the celebration, Playgroup Queensland asks you to please register so they can be sure to have sufficient goodie bags to distribute.
Those registered are also eligible to go in the draw to win a 5-night family holiday from Paradise Resort Gold Coast valued at $1424.50.
