Get ready for great new plays
Come one, come all - In 2013 the National Play Festival is coming to Perth for the very first time, this February 21-24.

The Playwriting Australia annual festival travels to a new city each year and this year it has Western Australia's State Theatre Centre in its sights.

Over the four day festival Perth theatre lovers will be privy to great new plays and artist talks to enrich the cultural discussion of theatre in Australia.

From a great wealth of scripts submitted last year, Playwriting Australia are bringing to Perth some of Australia's best local work for a showcase of polished readings. This year's playwrights include Declan Greene, Andrea James, Angus Cerini, Lachlan Philpott, Casey Nicholls and Kit Brookman. But most excitingly, Perth's own Hellie Turner who's new play is sure to particularly engage the WA audience.

The festival will also feature two striking new plays by visiting American playwrights.

The National Play Festival is not only a fabulous opportunity for local writers to have their work seen by key Australian producers and presenters, but it's also a great opportunity for Perth theatre goers and playwrights alike to experience some great new work and join in the conversation on the future of theatre writing.
