The National Motor Racing Museum is located at the entrance to the internationally renowned motor racing circuit, Mount Panorama in Bathurst. The museum has ever changing displays that showcase the history of motor racing in Australia and overseas.
Within the museum you will find a selection of race winning cars and motor bikes as well as an incredible display of photographs, paintings, trophies, helmets and other memorabilia. When you enter, you can enjoy a video of history of racing and great footage of past races. Nearly all categories of Australian motorsport are represented, dating back to the 1920's through to the recent past.
Mount Panorama is the only permanent road racing circuit in Australia. It is 6.2km in length and a lap of the track is a fun experience, even at 60km per hour. It was first used as an official track in 1938 holding the "Australian Tourist Trophy for Motorcycles" and a couple of days later "The Australian Grand Prix for Motor Cars",
