Marrickville Library will be hosting a number of free law talks on various subjects to host Law Week. Many of the guest speakers are provided by the Law Society of NSW.
Buying and Selling Real Estate This two hour session will cover information for buying and selling property, including strata titles. The talk will be held at Stanmore Library, 5.30pm to 7.30 pm on Thursday 8th of May.
Neighbours and the Law For ninety minutes, cover common issues that cause disputes between neighbours, such as noise pollution, fences and trees. Find out where the law stands on such issues and what are your rights. This talk will take place on Monday the 12th May, 5.30pm to 7pm at Marrickville Library.
Older people and the law This talk includes planning a will, power of attorney and grandparents rights, plus other matters related to planning for the future. Held at Marrickville Library on Friday 16th of May, 10.30 am to 12 pm.
Consumer Law: Your Shopping Rights and ScamSmart This lecture will cover your rights regarding refunds, consumer guarantees and extended warrantees. It also covers online, mail and telephone scams as well as how to protect yourself from banking & credit card scams, mobile phone scams and 'investment opportunity' scams. This talk is held in a number of languages, in partnership with NSW Fair Trading. All are held at Marrickville Library.
