Held at the Melbourne Showgrounds from 22 to 24 August, the National 4x4 Outdoors Show & Fishing and Boating Expo signals the end of Winter and preparation for the great outdoors with the coming of Spring. With 34,000 square metres of event space dedicated to tens of thousands of products and a jam-packed schedule of activities, performances and talks on fishing, boating, touring and 4x4 arenas, this is undoubtedly the premier exhibition for adventure enthusiasts and families all over Victoria and Melbourne. Here are 6 reasons to make your last August weekend an adventure with the family.

You and your family can meet a diverse line-up of of special guests and industry icons, many of whom are appearing exclusively at the Show. Some of the top names include Paul Worsteling from television's iFish; Channel 10's Offroad Adventure Show's Rick O'Brien; and Bush Mechanic John 'Roothy' Rooth, arguably the most recognisable face of 4WDing in Australia. Jason Andrews from All 4 Adventure will be making his only Melbourne appearance at the Show and sharing his best spots across Australia and tips for the road. Entertainment for all ages at the Action Arena

A jam-packed schedule of 4WDs, rock crawlers, motocross and live music performances at the Action Arena will keep visitors excited. Don't miss out all the action, thrills and entertainment from motocross star Matt Schubring of Crusty Demons fame performing stunts; 4WD time trials by members of the Cross Country Drivers; the Ragged Edge Rock Crawlers driving up walls and down massive drop-offs; the Isuzu UTE Australia Stunt Team displaying their precision driving skills; and experience the Black Jack Monster Truck rides from the passenger seat. 360 degree seating in the Arena means great views of all the action for everyone.

The XXXX Retreat inside the Action Arena will rock the Show with live open-air performances by Australian rock music legends like Mark Seymour and Ross Wilson. Visit the website for the full schedule at the Action Arena.

More family fun

There is a dedicated children's area to entertain the little ones at the Show. The Kid's Terrain will feature a jumping castle, rock climbing, Aerobounce bungy trampolines and zorb ground balls. Kids can enjoy learning and getting up close to native animals and reptiles from Blacksnake Productions team. In addition, Chris 'Brolga' Barnes, star of the Kangaroo Dundee TV series will share his stories and adventures with the children. The CFA Fire Safety Education Bus will also be onsite to educate kids on home fire safety and summer fire safety.

Eat better outdoors with Campfire Cooking Corner

This new show exhibit will raise the level of food and cooking on the road, with a line-up of tasty campfire recipes and outback culinary techniques. Visitors will learn what food to take when on the road, what to cook and how to cook outdoors from a team of experts who have been on countless traveling and cooking adventures. Sheree and Peter 'Spida' Everitt, the stars of the hit television show 'The Great Australian Doorstep' will be hosting the Corner. They are one of the special guests and industry icons appearing exclusively at the Show.

$60,000 Major Prize

Isuzu Ute and Opposite Lock is putting up a major prize of a fully-loaded Isuzu MU-X LS-M manual off-roader valued at $60,000. Everyone who purchases tickets online will automatically go in the $60,000 major prize draw, be it through the Show App or website. Visitors at the Show will also be able to enter by submitting their details at the iPad entry stations.
