Next Level Malaysian Dining in Perth
I went on a holiday to Malaysia a few years ago and experienced a fantastic dish. I have been searching far and wide for this particular dessert, and I've finally found it in Perth.
Allow me to introduce to you, Nasi Lemak Korner. NLK is located in Como on the iconic Preston Street. As you approach the restaurant, the smell of authentic Malaysian cuisine draws you in. Upon arrival, we were met with a bright smile and only had to wait a short time before being ushered to our seats. The seats were comfortable and quite high. The elevation gave me a view of the fine foods at other tables.
For my first trip to Nasi Lemak Korner, I thought I would try the restaurant's namesake, Nasi Lemak. I was in food heaven. The rice was fluffy with a wonderful aroma. The Chicken and Sambal was delicious! The Nasi Lemak at NLK is one of the best I've had in Perth.
I had to pause for a moment to get the food down, relax, and prepare for the next dining phase, dessert.
I waited with much anticipation. I've been harassing my friend for months about roti tissue, asking him where I could find it, telling him how great it is. Needless to say, he's glad he won't have to hear about it anymore and that we could finally enjoy it for ourselves in Perth.
It took a little while to get to our table, and we were both growing anxious. We wondered what it would look like, why it was taking so long to arrive, and then we found out. The lovely waitress revealed the creation, the roti tissue.
The sweet flatbread was rolled into a cone shape, sparkling with sugar and a glaze of condensed milk. It was clear to see why it took longer to prepare, this dish takes effort. All eyes in the restaurant were fixed on the roti as it came to our table. Some could be heard saying "what is that?" Everyone wanted a piece of the roti tissue!
Roti tissue is a unique dessert in taste and texture and it topped the dinner off nicely. If you are looking for something different for dessert, take a break from cake and Ice cream and give roti tissue a try.
I highly recommend booking a dinner at Nasi Lemak Korner. The menu is plentiful, and you're bound to find something you love. As for me, I'm a huge fan of the roti tissue. If you are going to experience it for yourself, I suggest booking in a group because it's that big you may struggle to finish it on your own. Keep in mind it is only available on the weekends.
The customer service is prompt, friendly, and the smile from the waiters and waitresses made me feel welcome and wanted at the restaurant. I will be returning soon for another dining experience at Nasi Lemak Korner.
