If your kids are spending a little too long on the Play Station, or if peak hour traffic is driving you crazy, take a break from the city and spend some time at for a much needed escape.



is located on Hindmarsh Island, just off of the Goolwa coast. If you head down, there's a large range of accommodation options available, with Narnu farm boasting seven cottages. These sleep anywhere from 5 to 12 people. The cottages are self contained and feature full kitchen facilities, bathrooms, pot belly fireplaces, light bedding and a dining table. They are the perfect place to prepare your farm experience.

Every day you have the chance to take part in animal feeding, including milking of the cows and collecting from the chicken hatchery. These take place twice a day, so you'll always be able to find a chance to take part. The kids will love being able to interact and get up close and personal with all of the creatures. They'll especially enjoy all of the baby creatures they'll find on the farm.



Another popular feature of is the horse-riding. This can be enjoyed by children as young as 2 1/2 years old. These start at led pony rides for the younger children, to longer riding lessons for older children and adults. Pony rides explore the farm and go on a short walking trail, all accompanied by a Narnu staff member to lead the ponies. The riding lessons take place in the indoor arena and are followed by a forest ride. This can be a great introduction for children who may be contemplating horse riding lessons in the future.



There are plenty of other things to do on the farm. Take a ride in the vintage truck to explore all sides of the park and meet all the different animals for only $5. Or head down to the courts and try your hand at tennis, basketball and volleyball. Narnu farm provides a whole range of sporting equipment for free use. There are bike trails, barbecues and a secret clubhouse for the kids to play in. During winter months you can enjoy roasting marshmallows by the campfire.

can get very popular during school holiday periods. Make sure you book in advance if you want to visit. It is a great learning experience for children who are so used to being completely surrounded by technology. Take a break from all of the interference and hassle in your life by unwinding at the farm. It is also a great opportunity for children who are interested in animals or farming, but who don't get many opportunities to deal with them in every day life.
