I am a natural movement & outdoor enthusiast who is always on the lookout for ways to incorporate physical activity into my life. My perfect day would combine outdoor movement, great food & convivial company.

Something exciting is happening in Narara, near Gosford, 1.25hrs' drive from Sydney. It is all about community, nature, great food, wonderful company, and having fun.
Narara Ecovillage is an intentional community which is currently being set up on the former site of the Gosford Horticultural Institute. The aim is to have a thriving community of villagers, ranging from young families, couples and active retirees, who enjoy nature and want to make their homes in this beautiful place in the Narara Valley, bordered by state forest.
Every month, the ecovillage hosts an Open Day and welcomes the public to come on tours of the village site, followed by a presentation about the background of the village and what is planned for the future. The presentation is often followed by talks on a variety of topics related to eco-housing, adventuring, nature, walks etc.
Spending the day at Narara Ecovillage Open Day is perfect for the whole family. Little ones can enjoy the pop-up playground in the village. The whole family will also enjoy taking in the splendid arboretum in the adjacent Strickland State Forest, with numerous walking tracks and a creek to explore.
If you are interested in going on a tour, there is no need to make a booking, just come along to an Open Day. There will be one on 22 July 2017. Click here to find out the date of the next Open Day. Note that you should wear closed toed footwear.
