Believes less is more and values experiences rather than material possessions.

Sea World on the Gold Coast is my favourite theme park. I enjoy each visit as if it were my first, although I am always exhausted at the end of it. This time we had the luxury of accommodation at The Nara Resort and all the time to enjoy the park. The Red Hot Sale offers a great deal including accommodation and unlimited entry to 3 theme parks; Sea World, Movie World and Wet and Wild from $159.00 twin share.
I was bubbling with excitement and felt like a kid again. We went in early to collect out tickets and spend time at the park until the 2pm check in. The staff were friendly and informative. The monorail made for a nice start to our journey, as we peacefully took in the views of the park.
The Penguin Encounter was calming. Watching the King and Gentoo penguins ambling along at their pace. I wonder if they even notice us fascinated by them, they seem to interact within their respective groups. I was reminded of Happy Feet, as I am sure many others are.
We rode the 'SkyWay' chairlift and took in the panoramic views of Sea World. At Ray Reef we could reach in and gently touch the sting rays which felt like smooth, slimy velvet. Shark Bay has several paid activities. We enjoyed free viewing from the bridges and the underwater viewing gallery. I spent a tranquil hour completely captivated by a world so unknown to us. I struggle with the concept of animals in captivity but it's consoling to note the great work by the Sea World team with their research, rescue rehabilitation and education programs.
I have seen the Dolphin Show numerous times, still my favourite. For a preview of the show, watch the video at the end of this article. Dolphins are beautifully graceful, majestic mammals. Their perfect performance and interaction with the trainers is indicative of their intellect. This show is the wow factor for me. It is both educational and entertaining, a must do.
Sea World does not offer a wide variety of rides. I'm not an adrenaline junkie, so it's perfect for me. The 'Viking Revenge' flume ride thrilled me enough to go on twice. My tip will be to carry some food and water as the queues are long
We ended the day being pirates at Castaway Bay. Battle boats move mechanically around a pool with water cannons on both the boats and the shore, creating an ideal setting for a water war, and it's not just for children. The atmosphere is great as bystanders on the shore are eager to shoot at you when you least expect it. Be prepared to get soaked. There are people dryers available at $5.00.
Thankfully we could go back to the resort to freshen up. The rooms are of a high standard and very clean. However, there is no microwave, which would be a welcomed addition as it is a family resort. The back entrance into Sea World for hotel guests is a massive plus, no queuing for entry. Hunger and a long wait do not lend for a happy time..I will be going back when the next Red Hot Sale offer is available.
