The long weekend that is Labour Day will be soon upon us, meaning only one thing - it's time to pack up your tent and hit the road. Nannup Music Festival runs from Friday evening to Sunday evening, and it is an incredible weekend away for all the family.
Just a three-hour drive from Perth, and great value. The small town of Nannup turns into one big festival, with the local hotel, town hall, and other various businesses opening their doors to beautiful blues, talented acoustic, great grass and much more.
Not only is there hours of live music to enjoy, but market stalls, tasty treats, kids activities and workshops for all ages.
Brave enough to swag out? The vast Nannup golf course transforms to a fully functional campsite, with lots of shady spots to choose from and great pop-up facilities. Although, if I were you, I'd get up nice and early to hit the showers, by day two a long queue begins to form (although it moves pretty fast).
The walk from the campsite is only short, and you'll pass numerous cafes on route, so you can top up your caffeine levels before your big day.
Only a couple of the music venues are alcohol licensed, so just make sure you are aware and map out your day. If you fancy a few in the evening, perhaps finish your day in those locations.
The distance between each venue isn't long, and there are plenty of things to look at on your walk, with entertainment going on all around.
The mix of visitors is very varied, with young families, retirees, teenagers and everyone in-between, so you're sure to fit in.
Being so close to the Margaret River, it would be a shame not to swing by a few wineries on your route back up to Perth.
