Combining the sounds of quality jazz with fine wines, good food and an intimate setting, the Nambour Winter Jazz Fest is a boutique, sophisticated event showcasing swing to Latin to funk to gypsy jazz. The festival will be held on the 19th-21st July at the C-Square centre, Nambour RSL Club, Flame Tree Church and other locations around Nambour.
Since the Festival began four years ago, organisers have created a reputation for presenting top-class performances from a variety of Australian artists based in the Sunshine Coast, Queensland and Interstate. With a wide range of jazz styles offered at the festival, you can go to one event or immerse yourself in a whole weekend of jazz.
The main part of the program is the amazing 'Jazz Walk', where you can enjoy a taste of New Orleans and walk between venues to enjoy a variety of acts all for the one low price. This gets you over six hours of music by 15 acts across four venues.
Maybe indulge your taste buds at the amazing Nambour RSL with fine wine, dinner and the show at 'The Supper Club' with headline artist Emma Pask. For fans of Brisbane based band "Scat", you better get ready to clap your hands and tap your feet at the Gospel Jazz concert or you may want to relax with a leisurely Sunday jazz brunch. If you're a keen player then why not sign up to one of the musician workshops on offer including jazz guitar and band workshops.
Or you can just soak up the atmosphere at the Courtyard Celebration and enjoy coffee and food from the Switch Café. See my article here. Whatever your choice, make sure you get on the festival website and buy your ticket before they all sell out.
