How much did I love Naked for Satan?

A girlfriend and I went along for the first time and two security guards unexpectedly greeted us at the door. As we entered we looked around a tad lost until we grabbed one of the waitresses and found out we can seat ourselves. Oops won't make that faux pas again!

We sat upstairs on a communal dining table, yet it was still intimate and cosy and we both had a great night in this cool little spot. Loved the space, vintage, funky and cool and upstairs was large and buzzy and it felt like we were amongst Melbourne's most hip and beautiful or perhaps just some little devils in disguise?

Service was dangerously good, the wait staff were friendly and attentive, and thank god as there is nothing worse to me than going out and getting treated like crapola. Likewise a disturbing pet hate is having to flag down waiters to get served (has happened every time I go to a certain Thai tapas restaurant in the CBD). A dining experience is not a good experience, no matter how fantastic the food is, if the service is devilish - it stuffs it up for me. was however definitely not a stuff up - it was the total opposite- heaven! Some would even classify this place as a bar, but it certainly beats several restaurants I have been too.

The Spanish inspired "pinxto's" tapas dishes were yum. Think tasty meatballs, smoked salmon with pickled onion, cheesy croquettes - all presented on a slice of baguette. Great for carb loaders, not so great for the Atkins fans, but I discovered you can eat the dish without the bread (just keep serviettes handy).

At $2 per pinxto and 12 toothpicks between the two of us we spent a total of $24 on food and we were not at all hungry. To put into perspective the taxi ride home at 4am after dancing the night away cost $40, even though the trip was to Port Melbourne.

Importantly, the wine chosen was a beautiful Belleruche Cotes du Rhone French Syrah Grenache. Silky smooth served chilled, (just as it should be) at European temperature. One bottle quickly got finished. What happened next is a bit blurry but I know it was good.

Summary: Convenient (no bookings) but I got a spot on a Saturday night without queuing , well priced, great service, quality food, liked the wine list (but loved my choice of wine), cool layout, good crowd, great atmosphere.

I am a fan and what more can I say, all should give it a go.

Perfect for: Girls, boys, young, very young, pre dinner drink, dinner, girly catch-up's, dates, boys having a look.

Do I recommend a visit? Yes.
Does the wine list measure up? Sure did.
Will I be back? Hell (ptp!) yeah!
