In the city and looking for something different for lunch? Head to Nagomi on Eagle Street Pier, a new venue from the owners of Sono Restaurant. Nagomi offers Japanese cuisine that is quick, easy and delicious.

My favourite is the bento box, for $12.90 you get a box full of yummy treats. Choose your meat dish and on the side there is steamed rice, pickled vegetables, potato salad, gyoza, croquette and edamame. There is also a vegetarian option and a lighter version where the fried sides are replaced with a larger salad and vegetables.

Don't be put off by the long line of businessmen and women queuing at lunch hour, service is fast and very friendly. I have never had trouble finding a seat and Eagle Street is a great setting to sit and people watch. If you prefer a bit of peace and quiet, get your bento to go. The Botanic Gardens are only a five minute walk away.

Nagomi is now also open for dinner on Thursday and Friday nights, for more information and to see the full menu visit the Nagomi website .
