Know Your Neighbourhood
Have you heard of Nabo? It is a new site set up by a group of Sydneysiders to get people involved in their local community. I have just joined in my suburb and am finding it quite exciting to see new people joining daily. I can see great potential for knowing whats going on in your street.
Nabo provides an environment for discussions and updates about local issues, recommendations for businesses or tradesmen or welcome new residents. You can swap, sell or give away all that clutter, get together to have a street garage sale

One downside of the internet is that you see an activity or a group and think how much you would like to join, but then it turns out to be in another state or even another country. Nabo Groups bring together Nabo members who share a common interest allowing you to organise your group locally as well as have online discussions. It is ideal for your kid's sporting club, the local mother's group, walking group, tennis club or community garden to discuss and arrange things easily all in one place. You can even start up a Neigbourhood Watch.

The Nabo Mission: We believe in mateship and community. Nabo was created to help Australians connect with the people who share their neighbourhoods. Together, we can look after everyone in our local community and make it a more vibrant and safer place to live. Sounds like the Good Old Days!
