If you want to take the children down to the city to experience a half-of-an-hour of Christmas cheer then head to Myer.

This year the interactive Christmas theme displayed behind the glass windows of the Myer shop-front windows is from the song "Santa Claus is Coming to Town."

The song is from the CD titled "Spirit of Christmas" and it is sung by Australia's own Guy Sebastian and the Australian Girls' Choir.

Every year Myer donates profits from the CD to help the poor children of Australia through the Salvation Army's work with children.

The "Spirit of Christmas" CD can be brought in-store at Myer.

There is much shopping to be had with nearby David Jones and other speciality shops open for business.

The show is free and is open from 7.30am until 1am until Thursday 5th January next year.

The very last window display is in direct contrast to the lights and music of the story in which Santa arrives on time to deliver presents on Christmas day.

Everything looks dark with minimal light. here is Jesus Christ in a manger, because Jesus Christ was born on Christmas day. The birth of Jesus Christ is perhaps symbolic of life and thus peace for one and all. The lyrics of "A Silent Night" are written on the window but no music plays, befitting of a truly Silent Night except for the trundling of trams passing by.

Myer has six levels of Christmas shopping with an entire sixth floor dedicated to Santa Land.
