This Saturday the 19th of November, Bourke Street Mall in the City will come to life as Myer hosts their Christmas Spectacular.
If you're an early bird, the Sunrise team from Channel 7 will be broadcasting live from 7am. Otherwise, if you prefer to stay in bed a little while longer, leading Australian artists such as Guy Sebastian and Kate Cebrano, who feature on Myer's annual charity Christmas CD, will be performing live from 9.30am.
This free family event will also play host to all the children's favourites, like Dorothy the Dinosaur and My Little Pony. And as the little ones will tell you, no Christmas event is complete without a visit from Santa, who will be putting in an appearance at the end of the day. He will be accompanied by his special Christmas elf and Myer pin-up girl Jennifer Hawkins.
Myer have already revealed their Christmas windows for this year with the theme 'Santa Claus Is Coming To Town.' The accompanying music of Guy Sebastian supported by the Australian Girls Choir is fantastic. The story of Santa Claus coming to town will mesmerise big and little kids alike, as it comes alive across six windows, with over 114 intricately hand crafted characters.
So head out to Bourke Street Mall this Saturday and soak up the atmosphere. I recommended you avoid the traffic and parking dramas by checking out Metlink Melbourne for trains heading into the city from a station near you. This great event will have something on offer for everyone, and is guaranteed to get the whole family into the Christmas spirit.
