For the last few years we have been visiting "" at Southbank for our weekly dose of cupcakes and coffee. The girls have become great friends and our visit always feels special. Last visit they shared with us the fantastic news that they have renewed their lease at Southbank and have brokered a deal to be able to serve a wider variety of freshly baked offerings and cafe style foods.

The shop is well known for it's wide variety of tempting cupcakes, with fresh and butter cream offerings such as the Strawberry Bunny, Peanut Butter Fudge, Lamington, Red Velvet and Lemon Meringue cupcakes. Chocolate lovers will enjoy offerings such as Classic Chocolate, Tiramisu, Choc Mint, Neapolitan, Espresso, Black Forest and Hazlenut Chocolate (Gluten Free). There is a list of over twenty cupcake flavours - something to suit everyone, and if you're not a cupcakes fan, then you may wish to try one of their delicious macaroons.

Coffee and tea are popular with the early morning cyclist trade, and if you're a regular you may even find your name decorating the top of your coffee. Also popular with cyclists are the freshly baked bagels, served with tempting fillings such as smoked salmon, Brookfarm muesli, muffins and thick cut, baked in store fruit toast. If you are heading there for weekend breakfast, be prepared for the cyclist invasion. If you're after a leisurely, less crowded breakfast then it may be better to sleep in and have brunch!

Owing to the popularity of the savoury selection in the mornings, the girls have extended their menu to incorporate freshly made salads, sandwiches made on their own in-house baked brioche and a selection of larger cakes. This now makes possible a lunch time visit which doesn't involve a sugar rush if you're feeling a bit guilty about lashing out on the sweet treats on offer.

Throughout the year, develops decorated cakes and treats for special holidays and events. There were beautifully decorated cupcakes for Valentine's Day and Australia Day, and Christmas saw the introduction of lots of edible sparkly dust. However our favourite at Christmas time were the ginger bread houses, fantastical creations guaranteed to bring a smile to children's faces. We were even lucky enough to be able to have a gluten free version created for our family - not an easy task as my own crumbly attempts verify.

also have a pre-order service for special occasions such as weddings and birthday parties. You can choose from a selection of their regular cupcakes, or design your own unique cupcake theme or a traditional tiered cake. Another option for parties is a collection of their pretty cake-pops.

Like many cafes, have their own loyalty program, this time cleverly available in a downloadable phone app so that you don't have to hunt through your wallet to find the right card. There are free cupcakes and coffees to be accrued in the app, as well as an online ordering service and menu.

are open seven days a week, from 6am - 4pm. Find out more on their Facebook page or Website .
