Larger fashion at smaller prices
I always make the bargain shopper's pilgrimage to Bridge Road when I visit Melbourne, but on my last few trips the fashions appeared to be getting smaller and younger, while I seemed to be doing the opposite. Fortunately on my latest visit I found the MySize outlet on Church Street.
Fashion for your size
MySize is a national fashion chain specialising in stylish and fashionable women's clothing in size 14 - 26. Their range includes plenty of casual tops and pants, dresses, work wear and a small selection of evening wear.
I like their sizing as a size 16 is equivalent to a "small', which is rather nice to see on the label.
The clearance store is packed with choices to suit different tastes and budgets. The front of the shop has the newer lines, still discounted but not as deeply, and in a good range of sizes. The sales staff are familiar with the stock and happy to help.
Plenty of choice
I found a great pair of red jeans for $59.95, marked down from $89.95. They also had this style in French blue or pale green and a similar style in a floral print on black – very much of the moment and a real bargain.
Cheap and cheerful t-shirts
Further back you'll find styles from previous seasons and the prices drop accordingly. I got a stylish pair of taupe linen slacks for $29.95 (originally $89.95) and an embroidered t-shirt for $19.95. The size range is not as good here, with many items only available in XS (14) or XL (26), but as is often the case in outlet shops, persistence can pay off.
At the very back there's a selection of t-shirts and singlets in a rainbow of colours and a large rack of seconds and samples. There's also shoes and boots to complete your new outfit.
