Transform your dining table into a world of imagination
My Playhouse Adventures was started in 2010 after founder Kirralee threw her kids a joint third and first birthday party at their home, with a teddy bear theme. After her bed-sheet "bear cave" attempt caved in, so to speak, she decided that she could do better: My Playhouse Adventures was born. Now Kiralee makes playhouses to fit your dining table.
Two of the sides are fully decorated, with two windows, a door, a functioning letterbox, and three birds. The two windows are made of netting, so that the playhouse doesn't sag and lose its shape, while still allowing airflow, light, and lots of peeking!
I was worried that the design we got would not be preferred by my three boys, but they love it as much as my daughter. A highlight by a mile is the letterbox "pocket", where many a "letter" has been sent and received already. The mesh windows allow for some airflow inside the cubby, and there are also some pockets inside for special mail or even a small stuffed-friend.
Remind your kids to watch their heads; the three-and-under crowd unfortunately seems to think that they can stand up under there (quickly and frequently).
Yes, I do love a good living-room fort cubby as well, but do not love the mass piling of couches and blankets and pillows and sheets that it takes, or more accurately the cleaning up of said supplies. The beautiful cubbies from My Playhouse Adventures inspire the imagination, provide a perfect morning tea picnic spot, and fold up quickly and neatly into the linen cupboard. Can't be happier with that.
Two sizes are currently available: Rectangle, for tables 170-185cm long and 90-105cm wide, and square, for tables 145-155cm square; $175 discounted price at the time of publication.
The gift that keeps on giving; give Kirralee a shout to order your own.
