Located across from the popular DFO Shopping Centre at Jindalee, My Pho Bar is in a convenient location for you to experience a Vietnamese cuisine.
This restaurant focuses on the Traditional Vietnamese soup, Pho. The closest translation to English would be Beef Noodle Soup, though the soup has a very unique flavour compared to other Asian cuisines.
The servings are of a large size and most of the time I am unable to finish the bowl but if this is not enough for you then they have "The Super Bowl Challenge". This bowl of Pho is absolutely enormous and probably would feed a village but I know that there are many people who thrive on taking on these food challenges. This is also reflected by the many pictures of people who have "attempted" to take on the giant bowl of Pho. They are yet to find someone you can finish the bowl in 60 minutes, soup and all.
Before you think about taking on this challenge let me just fill you in on the weight of ingredients that they put into the soup. 800g of Pho noodles, 800g of meat (beef, beef ball, tripe and flank) topped with their My Pho Bar Soup.
If you think that the Super Bowl challenge is a bit too much for you, then they have "normal" size bowls for all their other customers. You can choose to order the normal Pho or you can customise your Pho if there are some ingredients you prefer over others.
My verdict on the Pho served at My Pho Bar is it arrives at your table promptly (within 15 minutes), it is hot, very tasty and fresh and well worth the money.
The restaurant has a relaxing atmosphere and the staff always serve you with a smile on their face. The décor is also quite refreshing with a black, red and white theme.
Overall I am a frequent diner at My Pho Bar and would recommend to anyone who enjoys their Asian cuisine. I also would recommend to anyone who dares to take on the Super Bowl Challenge.
My Pho Bar does a relatively decent pho I agree, but you can do much better by driving that little bit further to Darra (or even venture out to Inala) - and to be honest, any of the viet restaurants in both these locations are great, although Phuong Trinh at Inala is my personal favourite.
