My Little Pony Friendship is Magic: Volume 7 - Book Review

Yes, I'm still reading these My Little Pony comics. I make no apologies. 7 volumes in and they are still a sparkly refuge from the real world.
In volume 7 the ponies make a trip to Canter Creek to see the Untamed West and investigate the disappearance of Applejack's great uncle Chilli Pepper. Applejack decides to take on a group of 'cattle rustlers' (in this case cattle committing crimes) in order to save her uncle's ranch and the rest of the town.
Not for the first time I'm curious how the relationships between the different animals in Equestria work. Longhorn the bull and the other outlaws ride on goats while all the other cows and horses just walk. Is Longhorn's steed an anthropomorphic goat, or another mute beastie like the ponies' pets? Are the goats' slaves, or employees? Do they get sick leave?
In the second story, 'The Root of the Problem', the ponies must save Zecora the zebra from some weird magical wolf creatures and the enchanted vines from Everfree Forest. So, basically a normal Tuesday.
The
Friendship is Magic series continues to be full of fun pop culture references and wholesome humour for all ages. Also ponies. Recommended for 15 or 20 minutes of pure escapism.
