Colourful cafe with great coffee
When Shakespeare penned Richard III and wrote the words, 'A horse! A horse! My kingdom for a horse', I'm sure he wasn't thinking of specialty coffee, great food and bright and well-lit interiors of a cafe. My Kingdom for a Horse cafe brings out the significance of good coffee, great produce and healthy breakfast at a convenient location in Adelaide.

Although we landed there on a weekend with no booking, we were seated promptly but owing to how quickly the other tables were getting filled, I would definitely recommend a booking for large groups. The coffee orders were tended to promptly and the coffees were very good too. The cafe are seasonal roasters and procure the coffee from the best they can find during the season and roast the beans onsite. They definitely take their coffee prowess seriously.

The menu has breakfast and lunch items available throughout the day. They cater to dietary requirements of gluten free, dairy free, vegan and vegetarian patrons alike. Their menu seems to have upgrades and changes frequently, keeping the returning customer interested to check out the new items.

On our visit, we settled for a polenta patty with beetroot and avocado relish, yoghurt and granola parfait with berry coulis and a serving of build your own brekky. Although the food was brilliant and was made to perfection, the only thing they could improve is the time it took to bring out the dishes. But perhaps you could argue that perfection on the plate takes time. The price of the breakfast dishes in the cafe ranges from $15 - $25 which could be considered high, however, if they maintain their service, portion sizes and quality you could see the worth.

This airy and colourful cafe will remain on my Adelaide list as a great start to the day. My recommendation - jump in and indulge.
