Barbara's husband is nuts
If, like me, winter is beginning to test your sense of humour, let me share a theatre production which will have you grinning from ear to ear.
My Husband's Nuts, by renowned playwright Devon Williamson, is currently being performed by Mates Theatre Genesis (MTG) at the Birkdale School of Arts. MTG are a community theatre group based in Brisbane's Redlands who have been entertaining locals for over twenty years.
Barbara's husband is missing on the family farm. When Jack finally returns he is a nervous wreck and will not leave the house. He is suffering from Agri-phobia ( the fear of agriculture) and is convinced that he is Hiroo Ononda- a Japanese soldier holding out on an island after the World War 2.
Barbara's husband is nuts. The only people she can trust with this information is the new vet and the village idiot.
How will they restore Jack's mind without the help of the medical profession?
At the production's final dress rehearsal, the laughter from the audience was constant and all went away with a smile on their face. Fast-paced, funny, and sheer good fun My Husband's Nuts will wash away any winter blues.
